Love..Kuwaiti Style..Part II
In a city like Kuwait where dating services are non existant, putting an ad in the papers is too pathetic and the closest you'll get to meeting a guy is him following you in his fancy car..only to yell at you "E'7thi el rakam"...whereby crossing the line of romance to horror..and the thought of an arranged marriage reminds you of Julia Roberts movie "Sleeping With The Enemy"...(imagining yourself walking down the aisle suddenly makes you want to throw up)....how does a single girl meet her Mr. Right?..With a busy schedule between rushing to work..going to aerobics..then relaxing at home because you're too exhausted to go out....Could blogging be the answer?...Have you ever imagined what other bloggers look like?
Having worked at a job that requires setting up meetings by telephone with total strangers..I've often wondered what they looked like in person before I get to meet them...most of the time...I get it all wrong!...The men with the deep voices sound like a tall, goodlooking, well built man...only to turn out to be short and petite...the men that sounded sophisticated on the phone...almost always turned out to be nerds and comletely uncool...So when it comes to voices...I never could pin point what they looked like...
As for blogging, I have to say that I've encountered some wonderful people (both men and women) who may have been my best friends in the real world...but I wonder...if I met them in person...would I feel the same way...if I was shopping and they past right by me...would they look like they could be my friends...or would they be the type that I sturr away from..
So the question is this...Could you tell what a blogger looks like by his post??..or is this stone best left unturned??

hmmm.. good point! madree i guess u just know what a blogger's personality is by reading their blog.. i believe writing makes people vulnerable, in the sense that they leave peices of themself behind.. ya3nii u get to tap into their feelings, beliefs, and personality thru their writing..

well i think you can see ppl in there words BUT the problem is some ppl dont say the truth so you see difrent pic of you ;)

what is the difference between dating service and el5a6aba? Both have profiles and sometimes photos of the people interested in that! Beside the idea of going out with someone stranger just because I liked his or her profile online is creepy! Who knows what kind of monster he or she will be or a serial killer :P And no I don't watch or read too much of Steven King :P
As for how the bloggers look like, I think it is impossible to tell but I think you can guess a range of how old is the blogger.

generally I have to say it's true that personality comes first but honestly speaking looks count too, I would only disregard the looks if the brain is way too phenomenal and would have alot to teach me, not that I need any teaching :P .. on the other hand I would never go out with a guy who looks good and has no brain.. that would be boring..
as for bloggers? it never really mattered to me how they looked like cause they remain bloggers so what's on the other side of the screen makes no difference to me.. I wouldn't like them more or less for how they look like :) I would like them more or less according to their posts and comments and such :) life is good wel7emdella .. chini I went off the subject?! hehe

hmmm.. then I don't know, how can they be my type! hehe I seriously never looked at it from this point of view, ya3ni ok I like some, and some I like alot, and some I seriously hate! hehe but I don't know if the ones I like alot are my type! cause I like both blogs of girls and boys equally and I wouldn't like it if I found myself into girls!! hehe! or hey maybe I never liked a blog so much to think that this blogger's personality would totally be my type! .. Well there is a major problem with meeting the other sex in Kuwait, atleast the kinds that you would want to establish a relationship with. There are three routes, one that is based on looks, and that usually happens through "tarqeem" oo tethibi6. Another is based on a combination, and that happens at the workplace, college, gatherings, parties and what have you. The third which is the newest, is through the internet, whether irc, msn or blogging. The problem here is that the attraction is purely based on character in a limited way, no facial expressions involved. Maybe in other countries the use of internet is used more effectively, like the use of video confferencing, which is rarely used here, atleast decently. Also the fact of not seeing the face makes you imagine, and you dont want to build up a "interest" with an imaginary face and body with NO NAME! People here are overly protective for no reason, I get that mostly with the most interesting people. Things like where do you live? They would not give an answer. I would understand if you say Ga9er Dasman! Dammit there are thousands living around you in the same area.
Anyhow, the point is, is there interesting people around? I must answer yes there is. And yeah alot of bloggers seem to be interesting, only if you will be able to see them, you might be able to take action. Until then its very risky!

Misscosmo hehe you make things very complicted. To make things simpler, if you like a blogger, send them an e-mail, and that is found in the profile (if enabled), then if all goes well, move on to msn, which happens to have video confferencing. The problem is no one does it!
I always try to guess who bloggers are just out of curiousity. Kuwai tis soo small and i'm sure many of us bloggers know each other in real life.
