Queen Of Hearts...

While I was having my hair done at the hairdresser today, I found one my favorite magazines being past to me, you know, the one with all the pictures and gossips about famous people. Well anyway, flipping through the pages, I found yet another article about Queen Rania of Jordan. Ever since she became a Queen, this magazine has become obsessed with her which I can't blame them since she fits the part; she's pretty, elegant and basically..she's a Queen..so why not...makes sense!

As I stared hard at her pictures, my mind began to wonder off...isn't it amazing that this girl went to the same High School that I did! How weird is that! One day she's in your school and the next day...she's a Queen!

Of course rumors had it when she first became a Queen that she'd been dating a Kuwaiti boy before she got married. The stories went on to say that the boy wanted to marry her but his Mom hadn't approved...she was an "expatriate" afterall...a Palestinian class mate...his Mom had said the typical things..."she's after him to get the Kuwaiti nationality...she's a gold digger..etc...etc..etc..." We've all heard that typical mentality before...so I won't go there...Whether the boy started the rumor just because she became a Queen or whether it really is true is anybody's guess....but how amazing is it that this girl's fate had turned out this way...

What if she'd ended up getting married to the Kuwaiti boy and her Mother-In-Law kept looking down at her for not being Kuwaiti....What if she'd always felt an outsider because in Kuwait that's how we mostly treat expatriates..worse still...what if Queen Rania remembers Kuwait that way?!

Ironically enough, who would believe that one day she would come back to Kuwait but only to sit with Kuwait's Royal Family and be addressed as a Queen!!! Now how weird is that!

As I look at the pictures of her receiving yet another award for something else that she'd done that was fantastic...I can't help but wonder what her fate would've been if she'd ended up staying in Kuwait and never ended up being proposed to by the King of Jordan...

Well, if there's anything to learn from this...besides the fact that fairy tales do come true...is the irony of life...As far as I'm concerned Queen Rania does remember her childhood in Kuwait fondly...but then again maybe she's just being forgiving..afterall..she's received enough awards to prove that she's got a heart of gold just as all Queen of Hearts should have..and thank God for that!!....Can you just imagine being rejected for your nationality in one country then only to come back to the same country as a Queen...how would you be??!

i saw her in london, she looked amazing, walking around one of the boutiques.. she is really really tall, but so down to earth and always smiling..

Is it true that she is diabetic? (Looking for a reason for her skinniess)

As for the boy's mom, and most kuwaiti moms, they are never satisfied with anything. Even if the boy wanted to marry a kuwaiti, she would point some other aspect in the girl that she doesn't like.

Anyways, it's her loss, and Rania's gain.

Charisma: so how tall is she?

Temetwir,
"its not as even half bad as u would WANT to believe". Not half as bad still means at least a third bad and that sounds plenty bad for me ;P The right of humanity denied is bad enough no matter how "little" bad it is.

sty. criticizing your country isn't al that bad. it is one step away from change, change to the better. this is not hatred to kuwait, just constructive criticism. think of it as an eye-opener.

nice post MissCosmo

I have been told by my father, that Rania is heaqvily diabetic, and that her first two kids are definitely known to be also diabetic, which probably accounts for why her first son has very poor vision and wears glasses since he was a toddler.

P.S.
by the way, forgot to mention my dad holds Jordanian citizenship and heard this from the Amman-dwelling Jordanian folks he visits.
